According to results of an online survey released in November by the credit card company Visa, 46% of respondents planning to do holiday shopping said they intend to buy some gifts online. Ch-ching! Internet retailer iMall's stock soared 135% to a 52-week high in heavy trading Tuesday amid investor mania for online shopping sites such as Amazon.com and eBay. "They're hooking up with brick-and-mortar retailers that are jumping on this chance to get involved in the Internet craze," says Brett Hendrickson at institutional broker-dealer at B. Riley in Los Angeles. The strategy draws 35 million visitors a month to the iMall site.
